For years, style felt separate from my relationship with God. I NEVER talked to Him about my clothes or how much joy getting dressed brought me. It felt… neutral. Not good, not bad. Just another interest.

But here’s the surprise: the very thing I thought was “separate” is one of the greatest ways Jesus has been teaching me in this season.

I’ll admit it: I love clothes. Always have.

But somewhere along the way, I started confusing my love for fashion with the need for more. More outfits. More Amazon “it” sets. More trends I’d wear once before they hit the donate pile.

In my quest for more, I discovered what I actually needed was less.

A few months ago, I cleaned out my closet—eight bags to Goodwill—and committed to wearing about 30 pieces on repeat. What started as a 30-day capsule experiment turned into a lifestyle.

And the crazy part? Instead of feeling limited, I felt free. My mornings got simpler. I refined my style. My confidence grew. It was almost this “refinding me” moment.

That’s what style simplified is all about: less chaos, fewer choices, more freedom.

I had an obsession with more there too. More responsibilities. More people who needed me. More striving to prove I mattered.

And yet, when I finally quieted down enough to hear that still, small voice, the call was the same: simplify.

  • Less to manage, so I could give more of myself to the One—and the ones—who matter.
